A country rich in ancient culture and traditions.
Laos is probably the destination of South East Asia less visited. After a long period of isolation, following the political issues of the 70s, the Country offers to the visitor numerous wonders to be discovered.
Some of the major cities are certainly already part of classic itineraries such as the unmissable Luang Prabang, the ancient capital of Lan Xang Kingdom, “the Kingdom of a million elephants”, considered the best preserved ancient city in Southeast Asia, with a rich artistic heritage with unmistakable “lao” style architecture and French colonial buildings.
Vang Vieng, the town framed by a picturesque scenery of karst mountains, lush forests, animist tribal villages and impressive caves offers a great opportunity to discover the authentic local life style. Vientiane is the political capital, with significant monuments including the That Luang Stupa, considered the most important of the Nation.
Outside the more classic destinations, Laos offers a vast cultural and natural heritage. In fact, the Country is home to over 150 ethnic groups with 82 different languages and dialects, many of which live in remote areas, far from the comforts of the main tourist destinations.
Our tailored made tours accompany you in a unique experience of authentic cultural enrichment in the provinces that are still not altered by modernity. In addition to many ethnic villages, there are numerous incredible naturalistic experiences that will make your trip unforgettable with spectacular caves, mighty waterfalls, and trekking in the forests.
Below are some example itineraries, to be considered as such or to be customised based on your preferences and needs. Given the geographical location of Laos it is possibile to combine the journey with land routes to Thailand and to Cambodia
