ITINERARY

01. ARRIVAL IN BANGKOK

Arrival in Thailand, the “Land of Smiles”. 

Welcome by our staff at Bangkok international airport
and transfer to the hotel.

02. BANGKOK CITY TOUR

Wat Phra KaewWat Phra Kaew

After breakfast we begin an unforgettable day trip to the most important Bangkok’s cultural sights.

Visit Wat Arun, know also as the Temple of Down, a Buddhist temple complex built in 17th century, among the most important historic landmark in Thailand for the impressive central Prang encrusted with colourful porcelain.

Afterwards we cross the Chao Phraya River by ferry and proceed to Wat Pho, know also as the Reclining Buddha Temple, a Buddhist temple complex which houses the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand, including a 46 m long reclining Buddha. Is considered the oldest center for public education and includes a school of Thai Medicine and traditional Thai Massage. 

We continue the visits to the Grand Palace, the buildings complex at the heart of the capital, official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782, and to Wat Phra Kaew, commonly known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Built in 1783 within the precincts of the Grand Palace, is considered the most sacred Buddhist temple in the country. Nearby we visit Tha Phrachan’s Amulet Marketone of the largest and most important amulet market in Thailand. 

Afterwards we head to Chinatown, which is one of the liveliest part of the capital. Visit Wat Traimit, or Golden Buddha Temple, houses the world’s largest solid gold statue, 3 metres tall and 5.5 tonnes weight.

At the end return to the hotel. The afternoon is free at your leisure.

03. AYUTTHAYA

Today awaits us the unforgettable visit to an UNESCO World Heritage City, once the most populous and impressive city in the world, existed from 14th till the Burmese invasion in 1767, and considered to be the precursor of the modern Thailand: the Ancient Kingdom of Ayutthaya

We visit the most important monuments of the archeological site such as Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, or Summer Palacecomplex formerly used by the Thai Kings.

We continue through green rice fields to Wat Phanan Choengone of the oldest temple of Ayutthaya, and proceed to the Monastery Wat Yai Chai Mongkol built in 1357, know also as Victory Temple, famous for its history and for its great stupa visible from far away.

Later we continue to Wihan Phramongkhon Bophit and Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the Temple of the Holy,  among the most visited in this area. 

In the afternoon we continue to Wat Mahathat, known for the iconic head of a sandstone Buddha entrapped in tree roots. At the end transfer to the hotel in Bangkok.

04. DAMNOEN SADUAK AND RAILWAY MARKET

In the early morning we transfer to Damnoen Saduak at 90 km west of Bangkok in Ratchanaburi province. Upon arrival we embark on a traditional boat to explore the man-made canal built over 150 years ago and its notable floating market, where vendors on small wooden boats sell a variety of local products, Thai snacks, vegetable, colourful fruits, desserts and handicraft items. Over the years the floating market became a touristic attraction and is often crowded. However is an iconic sightseeing worth the visit.

We continue to the nearby coconut sugar farm to taste the sweet coconut sugar juice before to head back to the hotel.

Later we visit the Maeklong Railway Market, also known  as  Umbrella Pull-down Market, the most picturesque and authentic market literally atop train tracks since 1905. Officials decided to build a railway to easier delivery the products. Eight times a day when vendors hear the sound of the train getting close they rapidly move their basket of goods and  umbrellas away to clear the tracks. Right after the passage of the train, the sellers pull down their umbrellas and move their goods back on the tracks and simply carry on with their day. 

Continue the visits to Wat Bang Khae Noi,famous for its main chapel made in golden and teak woods, and to an unique site, where a giant banyan tree unbelievably and naturally covers one whole building at Bangkung Camp. At the end transfer to the hotel in Amphawa.

05. AMPHAWA - THE DEATH RAILWAY

In the early morning is worth it to observe the traditional Morning Alms Ritual practised since more the 2500 years. Buddhist monks wander around the village, or glide along the canal, collecting their daily meal from the believers. 

Later we transfer to Kanchanaburi Province to visit Kanchanaburi’s War Cemetery dedicated to the over 6000 prisoners of the Imperial Japanese Army, who lost their life during the construction of the Thiland-Burma Railaway, later named “The Death Railway“, between ’42 and ’43. 

Afterward visit the bridge over the River Khwae, built by Japan Empire in 1943, one of the most historical landmark in the province. Once part of the Death Railway it was partially destroyed by allied air raids and later rebuild it for passenger rail. We will enjoy a short ride on an old nostalgic train till Tham Krasae Station.

Upon arrival visit the small Krasae Cave with a sacred Buddha and a  spectacular viewpoint of the railway cliff. 

In the afternoon we will enjoy a bamboo raft along Khwae river befor transfer to the hotel.

06. ERAWAN NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we continue to Erawan National Park to visit its famous seven jump waterfall, known for its clear water and the natural swimming pools. Following a trekking path we can reach the top of the waterfall.

In the afternoon we continue to Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum and  historical site dedicated to all who suffered and died during the WWII.  This section of the railway was the largest rock cutting and the most difficult to build resulted to many deaths of forced laborers. A path allows to trek down 500 meters through the amazing walking trails to the cutting of the pass. 

Later we transfer to Sai Yok District to the eco-friendly River Kwai Jungle Rats, the resort floating on the the fast flowing Khwae River. To reach the property we embark on a long-tail boat and  cruise through an area surrounded by limestone mountains.

The resort is decorated with Mon traditional arts and while staying at the floating wooden raft we not only support the ethnic community, but we will also feel closer to the nature. Due to the ecology conservation concept the entire resort does not use electricity but rather  utilizes traditional kerosene lamps at night maintaining a true eco hideaway in nature.

07. MINORITY VILLAGE - FLIGHT TO KRABI

In the morning visit the nearby Mon ethnic Village and enjoy the Khwae River where, who likes, can try the trill of a “river jump” into the flowing of river.

Later we embark on a long-tail boat and head to Bangkok. Upon arrival transfer to the domestic airport in time for the flight to Krabi on southern Thailand’s west coast, famous for dense mangrove forests and more than a hundred offshore islands. 

Welcome by our staff upon arrival at Krabi airport and transfer to the hotel. Free time at your own leisure.
