Wat Phra KaewWat Phra Kaew

After breakfast we begin an unforgettable day trip to the most important Bangkok’s cultural sights.

Visit Wat Pho, know also as the Reclining Buddha Temple, a Buddhist temple complex which houses the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand, including a 46 m long reclining Buddha. Is considered the oldest center for public education and includes a school of Thai Medicine and traditional Thai Massage. We continue to the Grand Palace, the buildings complex at the heart of the capital, official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782. 

Afterwards visit Wat Phra Kaew, commonly known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Built in 1783 within the precincts of the Grand Palace, is considered the most sacred Buddhist temple in the country. We head to Wat Traimit, known as the Golden Buddha Temple, houses the world’s largest solid gold statue, 3 metres tall and 5.5 tonnes weight.

In the afternoon we embark a cruise through the tributary of the Chao Phraya River to admire the city’s more remote canals, klongs, wooden riverside stilt houses, that resemble the old scenes of Thai life style over hundred years ago once Bangkok use to be called “Venice of the East”.

Wat Mahathat - AyutthayaWat Mahathat

Today awaits us the unforgettable visit to an UNESCO World Heritage City, once the most populous and impressive city in the world, existed from 14th till the Burmese invasion in 1767, and considered to be the precursor of the modern Thailand: the Ancient Kingdom of Ayutthaya

We visit the most important monuments of Ayutthaya such as Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, or Summer Palacecomplex formerly used by the Thai Kings; the Monastery Wat Yai Chai Mongkol built in 1357; Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the Temple of the Holy; Wat Mahathat, known for the iconic head of a sandstone Buddha entrapped in tree roots.

At lunch time we embark on a river cruise back to Bangkok. Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch while gliding on the enchanting Chao Phraya River. 

Upon arrival in town we continue the visits to Asiatique the Riverfront  the large open-air mall facing Chao Phraya River, built on the former docks of the East Asiatic Company founded in 1897. It features 1.500 shops and stalls and 40 restaurants, most of which are housed in the former warehouses. Among several historical buildings it houses an old sawmill, a WWII bomb shelter, a parking lot train decorated with bronze statues and performing venues.

Maeklong Railway MarketMaeklong Railway Market

After breakfast transfer to Maeklong Railway Market, also known  as  Umbrella Pull-down Market, the most picturesque and authentic market literally atop train tracks build in 1905. Officials decided to build a railway to easier delivery the products. Eight times a day when vendors hear the sound of the train getting close they rapidly move their basket of goods and  umbrellas away to clear the tracks. Right after the passage of the train, the sellers pull down their umbrellas and move their goods back on the tracks and simply carry on with their day.

Afterwards we transfer to Damnoen Saduak, the famous floating market located 90 km west of Bangkok. Upon arrival we embark on a traditional boat to explore the canal and its notable floating market, where vendors on small wooden boats sell a variety of local products, Thai snacks, vegetable, colourful fruits, desserts and handicraft items. Over the years the floating market became a touristic attraction and is often crowded. However is an iconic sightseeing worth the visit.

We continue to the nearby coconut sugar farm to taste the sweet coconut sugar juice before to head back to the hotel.

Pratunam areaPratunam area

Bangkok is worldly famous for its enormous shopping complex and fashion malls. In this sample of itinerary we visit the shopping malls in PathumwanCentral World, one of the largest lifestyle shopping destinations on Earth, with a total area size of 830,000 square meters, which offers everything from brand names to stationeries.

Later we continue to Pratunam, a largest clothing market in Thailand, where we enjoy bargain shopping at Platinum Fashion Mall, known for  numerous fashion stores selling both retail and wholesale clothing products.
