Mergui Islands and Moken villages is an example of 5 days tour includes 2 days sailing among the most beautiful islands rich of fascinating natural biodiversity.

Visit the Shwedangon Pagoda in Yangon, the most sacred monument of Myanmar, and explore Myeik, one of the fishermen’s larger towns in the country, with a strategic business role for over 500 years.

ITINERARY

01. ARRIVE IN YANGON - CITY TOUR

Arrive in Yangon and visit Chauk Htat Gyi Buddha Temple, known for the 72 meters reclining Buddha statue, among the largest in Myanmar.

In the afternoon we continue to Kandawgyi Park where we enjoy the beautiful view of the Karaweik barge, the sumptuous palace built in the 70s on a royal barge.

We end the day at the famous Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred in Myanmar. The massive bell of the stupa is gold-plated and the tip is embellished with diamonds, rubies, sapphires and topazes. An unmissable show and the most suitable place to end your journey.

02. MYEIK

In the early morning we catch the domestic flight to Myeik, one of the largest fishing towns around Myanmar, with a strategic business for over 500 years. Here it is produced everything needed for the fishing industry. Once simply known as Mergui, still has a number of buildings dating from the British colonial period.

Visit to a factory where wooden boats are still made according to traditional methods. At the end we visit a laboratory specializing in the processing of soft shell crabs, one of the most exported products.

In the afternoon we continue the visits to Myeik colonial district. The most important street is Strand Road, on the seafront, where the greatest number of activities are concentrated and where the night market and the main restaurants with a vibrant atmosphere are located.

At the end of the day we have 2 options:
– excursion on a long tail boat to Pathaw Pathet island (10 minutes) and walk up the hill to enjoy the incredible 360˚ view of the city and the islands of the archipelago
– walk in the town to Thein Daw Gyi Pagoda to immerse yourself in the local daily life.

03. BOAT TRIP MERGUI ARCHIPELAGO

Private boat cruise(*) at Mergui Archipelago for an amazing snorkelling experience in the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea, relax on the beautiful beaches and jungle trekking. The possible routes are manifold. Below is an example of itinerary that it can be customized.

OPTION 1Dome Waterfall, Moken Dome Nyaung Mai Village and Smart Island

At 08.00 am we board at Myeik pier and transfer to the Dome Waterfall. We continue to Moken Dome Nyaung Mai Village where we meet the local people and observe their daily life.
After lunch, we continue to Smart Island for snorkelling and relaxing at the beach.
At 3pm return trip to Myeik (about 2h).

OPTION 2Fishing villages, Mergui Islandtrekking and local villages

At 08.00 am we board at Myeik pier and transfer to fishing villages: an authentic experience to learn about the ancient traditions of fishing, conservation of fish and the lifestyle that allows for centuries the survival of the people “Sea Gipsy”.
Afterwards we continue to Mergui fishing village, another fishing village with a different style of fishing and survival. Later we hike in the jungle rich in flora and fauna, through hillside villages until Phyan Aw Beach. After lunch we continue to the Thel Dan Kyi Beach.
At 3.30 pm we return to Myeik (about 1h30).

OPTION 3Chester Islands (Kyal Laik) and Dana Theik Di Island

At 08.00 am we board at Myeik pier and sail to Chester Island, also known as Kyail Laik Island. The island is known for its beautiful corals and the colourful marine life.
Seafood lunch on board.
Arrival at 1.30 pm and free time to relax. 
In the afternoon we continue to Dana Theik Di Island, well known for the various rock formations and boasts one of the best spots for snorkelling. For hiking enthusiasts can enjoy a short hike into the jungle.

04. BOAT TRIP MERGUI ARCHIPELAGO

OPTION 1 : Fishing villages, Tha Mee Island and Marcus island (Harris Island)
At 08.00 am we board at Myeik pier and transfer to fishing villages: an authentic experience to know the ancient fishing traditions of this area. Continue to Tha Mee Island where we can relax on the small beach and visit the small waterfall.
Afterwards we proceed to Marcus Island, known for its beautiful white sand beaches.
Around 3 pm return trip to Myeik.

OPTION 2Chester Islands (Kyal Laik) and Dana Theik Di Island

At 08.00 am we board at Myeik pier and sail to Dana Theik Di Island, well known for the various rock formations and boasts one of the best spots for snorkelling. For hiking enthusiasts can enjoy a short hike into the jungle. 
In the afternoon we continue to Chester Island, also known as Kyail Laik Island. The island is known for its beautiful corals and the colourful marine life.
Around 3 pm return trip to Myeik.

OPTION 3Dana Theik Di Island and Bailey Island

At 08.00 am we board at Myeik pier and sail to Dana Theik Di Island, well known for the various rock formations and boasts one of the best spots for snorkelling. For hiking enthusiasts can enjoy a short hike into the jungle. We continue to Bailey Island one of the best spot for snorkelling.
Around 12 pm return trip to Myeik (4h).

05. MYEIK - YANGON - DEPARTURE

After breakfast transfer by domestic flight to Yangon.

Upon arrival visit Bogyoke Aung San Market, or “Scott Market”, one of the largest bazaars in Yangon where over 2000 merchants sell clothes, precious stones, traditional crafts and souvenirs. 

Free time for any purchases and to immerse yourself in the local daylife.

Transfer to Yangon airport for departure.
